ABOUT US
We are an Oregon Nonprofit organization that focuses on equestrian education. We generally donate funds to equestrian-oriented groups, especially those focusing on youth.
Mules and horses are welcome – we are not strictly a mule-oriented group.
Our annual fundraiser is a trail Ride held Memorial Day weekend at the Flying M Ranch out of Yamhill. This is a wonderful family event with lots of great prizes. Many of our riders have been attending this event for years. Preparing for this event involves something for everyone—trail building, trimming and marking; selling raffle tickets for a saddle and BBQ; and gathering donations from area vendors.
We also maintain 10 miles of the Pacific Crest Trail between Ollalie and Brietenbush Lakes in the Cascades. If you’re not familiar with this trail, it is an international trail available to hikers and riders that stretches from the Mexican to the Canadian borders. We gather for a weekend or two in the summer and do trail maintenance on our section.
Various other rides may also be planned throughout the year.
In general we just like to get together, work our animals, meet other people with similar interests, have a good time, and hopefully help others through our donations and efforts.
We meet on the 2nd Wednesday of each month—meeting location varies from restaurants to members’ homes. Location and time for the next meeting are decided at each meeting and printed in the newsletter that is sent to all members. Both Family and Single memberships are available.
